रिबी निवारण कोषले मागका आधारमा समुदायमा आधारित कार्यक्रममार्फत गरिबी न्यूनीकरणका लागि विगत सात वर्षदेखि काम गर्दै आएको छ । विभिन्न गैरसरकारी, निजी संघ÷संस्था, स्थानीय निकायलगायतको सहकार्यमा कोषले हाल ४० जिल्लामा विभिन्न कार्यक्रम सञ्चालन गर्दै आएको छ । स्थानीयका आवश्यकता, क्षमता तथा स्रोत साधनको पहिचान गर्दै उपलब्ध स्रोत साधनको परिचालनमार्फत गरिबी न्यूनीकरण गर्दै नेपाललाई अति कम विकसित राष्ट्रबाट माथि उठाउन कोषले महŒवपूर्ण भूमिका निर्वाह गर्दै आएको छ ।

Beginning with the poorest six districts in 2004, the Nepal Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) is now operating in 59 of the 75 districts in the country. The project has helped a total of 650,021 beneficiaries, of which approximately 74 percent are women, and 55 percent come from communities that traditionally have been marginalized or excluded by reasons of geography, caste, and ethnicity.

The government will identify the poor and distribute identity cards to them from the next fiscal year.
A joint meeting of the two high level panel on poverty-- Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) and Central Bureau of Statistics-- on Tuesday decided to complete the ground work for identifying the poor within the current fiscal year and begin to distribute the identity cards to the poor from the next fiscal year, PAF said in a press statement.
