Life has a different meaning for Kamala now

For Kamala Tamang, life is full of colour. Tamang, secretary of Batabaran thatha Grimin Bikas Sastha, ,Devisthan, Khaniyapani VDC -5 , Ramechhap is now earning Rs 1500-2000 monthly from sewing cutting business.
Life was not easy for her till few years back.
Earlier in 2057 B.S, she had taken sewing and cutting training from District Small Cottage and Industries (Gharelu Udyog), of Ramechhap. After completing nine classes she had nothing much to do in her village besides teaching voluntarily in local school. Due to the lack of capital to invest in purchasing a sewing machine, She was unable to use her skill that she had learned

When a PAF partner organization-Samaj Sewi Youth Club, started working in the area where Kamala lives, she heard neighbours saying good things about the PAF programmes. I was anxious at first, I kept thinking if it was wise to take a loan… I had heard many unpleasant stories where people take loans and it takes generations to repay the loans' but then I met with a social mobilizer and she explained how easy it was to get involved in PAF programmes. Kamala actively participated every events of the programme. Ultimately, when the CO in which she is involved went through agreement with PAF and the fund proposed was released, she got collateral free loan, from which she bought a sewing and cutting machine.

Now she is very excited, laborious and engaged herself whole day in her own business. She finds herself busy as she knows how to make 40 different items of ladies and gents' wear." I am now also giving training to others two women '' She said.
